Lights off....Camera....Action...!!

So, the other day when we had a power outage in New Delhi, and I made the most out of my creative juices!

Since there was no internet, television or any other technology to distract me I thought of getting a little creative and brought out my camera and candles to play with. Candles I bought over from different destinations, gifts, candle stands had been stocked up inside for way too long and as I brought them out, we relived the little stories that belonged to each one of them. Each corner looked so different and pretty as the lights danced around.

Dressing up my living room with the warmth of candle lights was so soothing to the eyes, that even after the power was back, we did not bother to change the ambience.  It was just so perfect, peaceful and picturesque!

What followed next  ?? .... some pictures...cuddles...coffee...cakes...and endless conversations !!

Sharing a few vignettes of my living room with you!

Never imagined a power outage to be a pretty scene! What say? Would love to hear back from you!

Wishing you a happy week!

My little piece of Karchobi !

Ever since we moved into our new place and I started my new job, I wonder where all the time goes?

So happy to be back to blogging and hopefully will be here for a while!

A few days back, I took a trip to Janpath and found these cute little Karchobi  mats. They were so adorable and irresistible that I regret not buying many more.

I love how the white-red combo has turned out!

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

In Heaven's Lap

.....And we are back from our summer break..!! We wanted to spend the last few days of our summer break peacefully among the hills.... but Shimla, Mussoorie and Nainital  have become too commercial and crowded..... I would much rather be at the peace at home....After much thought and research we finally decided to spend a week at Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh.

Being the highest hill station in himachal pradesh, it is so raw in its beauty. This calm little town has preserved its culture so beautifully that you would  feel you have traveled back in time.

Among the many tourists destinations, Khajjiar and Dainkund peak were our most favorite one. My husband kept asking me to take pictures of the beautiful deodars and clouds..... I would only reply by saying... honey this cant be captured  by any camera.... just take it all in and capture it with your eyes...

Nevertheless, sharing a few of my pictures from the trip.  Hope you enjoy them as much...

Our home for a week.... the Grand View Hotel. great hospitality and beautiful view.

Everything nice and pretty around us....

Cafe Dalhousie.... our everyday chai place.  The cafe was a British time guest house which is now serving as a cafe... they served awesome grilled sandwiches :P

Captured these dainty beauties on our trek to Dainkund peak

Kalatop guest house.....another British time guest house, preserved just as it was back then. This guest house has been a home for many bollywood movies...1942-A love story, Lootera to name a few..

Beautiful Khajjiar... also known as mini Switzerland in India.  The deodars...and green grasslands were breathtaking...this is my favorite picture from the entire trip...and honestly it does no justice to what I saw in person...

Once upon a time....Home!

Another favorite of mine.... I love the different shades of green as the peaks get higher
(View from our balcony)

Hope you enjoyed these pictures.... would love to hear back from you. Have a great week ahead !!

Our Humble Abode - Master Bedroom

Finally !! managed to get a breather to sit down and do what I love doing the most....blogging about my our home.

Its been 3 months since I packed up my life in the US and decided to return back to home sweet home at New Delhi, India.  Since then life has been nothing but unpacking...organizing...receiving cargoes and shipments. And that is exactly kept me away from you guys too...Living in India has been quite an experience so far... I cant say we are friends yet... but we are getting there...

This cute little place we call home is our first place together, and both of us really want to enjoy the process to setting it up , hence the decision to take one room at a time.  We also want to keep it simple..easy to maintain and clutter free...

Sharing a few pictures of our (sort of almost) complete master bedroom...take a tour....

Banarsi pillows on the bed in assorted colors

A bunch of my favorite fresh flowers

Knicks and Knacks of purple-blue decor . The blue glass pumpkin and ceramic plate were  DIY projects

Our Anthropologie monogram cup from a very dear friend... and a memory I brought back from my University time in Pittsburgh.

Another view of the decor above the bed and my DIY canvases. These were our favorite wedding pictures

....taadaaa... this how it looks as of now... a few more things to add and we will probably strike off the master bedroom from our list... Hope you all liked it as much as we loved setting it up.... let me know :))

Love always..xoxo
